Druk Path Trek – is a six day trek that starts from Dhopshari near Paro and ends at Thimphu. It is a high altitude trek requiring reasonable fitness. Experienced and strong trekkers can complete the trek in about four days. One can undertake this trek from February to June or September to December. The starting point is the National Museum at Paro. The trail crosses a brook and makes a long gradual climb to a wooded crest. From there it is a gentle walk along the ridge to the campsite in a yak pasture at 3, 450 meters. Thereafter, the trail passes through a thick alpine forest offering majestic views of Mt. Jomolhari and other snow-clad peaks. The trail is rich in rhododendrons. On the third day, one gets excellent views of the 6, 989 meter high Mt. Jichu Drake. On the fifth day, one also gets to enjoy grand vistas of Mt. Gangkar Puensum and the other adjacent Himalayan peaks.
