Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek – is a popular trek for visitors to Thimphu. After a half an hour drive from Thimphu, the seven day trek starts from Khoma and ends at Semtokha. The trail passes through terraced paddy fields and coniferous forests with occasional sightings of yaks. En route there are spectacular views of the Dagala range. The trek passes through Utsho lake which is rich in golden trout. The high altitude areas near the lake are full of wild alpine flowers. Depending upon ones convenience and preference one can spend an extra day or two here to visit the numerous lakes in the vicinity.
